Building Bridges Film Intervention Study

About

The Building Bridges project is a filmmaking and film intervention project led by Dr. Briana Woods-Jaeger. This project will focus on sharing the story of Mr. Ibrahim Songne who immigrated from Burkina Faso to Italy with his family at 11 years old and pursued his dream to open his own pizza shop, IBRIS Pizza. IBRIS Pizza has social and environmental impacts by participating in Italy’s zero-kilometer food movement and through Mr. Songne using his platform to build bridges among Africans and Italians in Trento, Italy through food and cultural exchange to improve intergroup relations, advocate for human rights, and build a diverse, vibrant, and healthy community.  The study will examine the impact of the Building Bridges narrative film intervention on reducing loneliness and social isolation and increasing motivation towards inclusive behavior among adults living in Trento Italy and surrounding areas.
